Yes! I mean it 🙂 I love any beans and this English beans on toast is on my current rotation. I used to love veg toast a lot but now, I have to say that beans on toast give tough competition 🙂

Though English baked beans on toast are usually prepared with white beans I used romano beans here.
How to make beans on toast?
If you have Heinz baked beans then you are good to go 🙂 However, I used romano beans here which I cooked from scratch (you know I am a girl who loves making recipes from scratch ;))
Heat oil in the pan. Add onion, crushed tomatoes, chili flakes, garlic powder, salt, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and red chili powder.




Add drained beans into that with a little bit of water and simmer the mixture for about 2 to 3 minutes.



Toast your favorite bread. Spread beans on the bread and garnish with basil and cilantro.

- 1 cup Romano beans , cooked and drained OR use canned baked beans
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 medium Onion, or 2 shallots
- 2 Tomatoes, crushed
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
- Black pepper powder , to taste
- ½ teaspoon Red chili powder
- 4 Bread slices
- Fresh Basil, to garnish
