drumstick sambar recipe
Ingredients
- 1-2 nos drumstick
- 1 cup toor dal, cooked
- 1.5 tbsp oil
- ¼ tsp mustard seeds
- 8-10 nos fenugreek seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida
- 8-10 nos curry leaves
- 5-6 shallots
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp sambar powder
- 2 tbsp tamarind pulp
- salt to taste
Instructions
- pressure toor dal and keep it aside.
- meanwhile, chop your drumsticks and keep it aside.
- heat oil.
- add mustard and fenugreek seeds.
- when crackle, add asafoetida and curry leaves.
- add shallots and ginger.
- saute.
- add chopped drumstick.
- add turmeric powder, red chili powder and sambar powder.
- add tamarind pulp and mix.
- add cooked dal.
- add salt to your taste.
- boil for 15 mins.
- enjoy.

- for this measurement,take 1/2 cup toor dal and 2 cups water. pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
