  • pressure toor dal and keep it aside.
  • meanwhile, chop your drumsticks and keep it aside.
  • heat oil.
  • add mustard and fenugreek seeds.
  • when crackle, add asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • add shallots and ginger.
  • saute.
  • add chopped drumstick.
  • add turmeric powder, red chili powder and sambar powder.
  • add tamarind pulp and mix.
  • add cooked dal.
  • add salt to your taste.
  • boil for 15 mins.
  • enjoy.
