Ingredients to make Instant pot moong dal
There are very basic ingredients required to make this moong dal fry. Yellow moong dal, water, oil, cumin, tomatoes, onion, chilli garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. That’s it!
Can we store this dal?
Yes! you can store this dal 😉 Allow it cool down properly before storing. This dal can stay fresh up to 4 days in a refrigerator when stored in ziplock bags or an airtight container. You can also deep freeze this dal. Deep-freezed dal can stay fresh for 20 to 25 days.

How to make moong dal fry in an Instant Pot?
Start the instant pot in sauté mode and heat oil in it. Add cumin seeds.
Once the cumin seeds start to change colour, add the onions, chilli garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes.
Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Stir and saute for 2 minutes.
Add the moong dal (wash dal before using it) and water. Stir it well. Pressure Cancel and close the lid with a vent in the sealing position.
Change the instant pot setting to manual or pressure cook mode at high pressure for 7 mins. After the instant pot beeps, let the pressure release naturally for in 7 minutes or release the pressure manually.
Check if dal cooks properly.
Garnish with cilantro(fresh coriander) and stir.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
