I shared many recipes of oats flour before on the blog and i think it is the time to share this very basic recipe so that you can prepare anytime with NO WORRIES 😉

so,

What is oat flour?

Oat flour is a nutritious, unrefined flour made from just one whole ingredient: rolled oats. It’s a great baking flour for gluten-free and vegan recipes. It has a fairly neutral taste and absorbs flavors really well.

Where do I find oat flour?

You can find gluten-free oats flour online here! Oat flour is usually located in the health food section of your local grocery store. In stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, you can find it in the baking section, usually near the allergy-friendly products.

Preparing oats flour at home is quite cheap. You don’t have to spend a lot of money because you already have everything you need in your pantry to make your own oat flour, simply and inexpensively.

While oats are naturally gluten-free, they can be cross contained depending on where they were processed. If you are looking for certified gluten-free oat flour, all you need to do is make sure the oats you purchase say “certified gluten-free” and then you can make your own gluten-free oat flour at a fraction of the cost.

For making your own oats flour, you can just take churn your rolled oats to a fine powder but here I am adding one more step before “just churning”.

  • firstly I dry roast my oats for the nice nutty aroma.
  • allowed my oats to cool it down properly.
  • I churn the roasted oats to powder.
  • I churned it more to make NICE /Fine powder.
  • and lastly, i used airtight container to store it 😉

below are few recipes that use oats flour 🙂

  1. Drying the oats is a great idea. I will try, it’s also cheaper than buying the flour and I always have plenty of oats in the cupboards.
