I am not saying that ready-made products are not good. Nowadays, you can easily get fresh and hygienic products from the market. That saves your time.It is boon for working women.

But home-made products are the products which have its own standards and quality because it is chosen by you.

I am going to share VERY BASIC dadima’s special curd recipe. this is called “दही जमाना “.

You just need 2 tbsp of curd and whole milk. You need to boil milk first.

For making yogurt in this DESI STYLE, The room temperature is the most important part. If you are living in a colder place like UK, US, Canada then you need to be careful to place your yogurt in a warmer place. In India, we face little problems with curd in winters only.

The other important part is Proportion of milk and yogurt.

In winters, for 500 ml milk approx 1.5to 2 tbsp of curd is required. otherwise 1 tbsp will be enough.

The measurement will vary according to your place.

For the beginners, I suggest to take 1 cup warm milk and add half tbsp of curd and observe after 5 hours.if it is not set then keep aside again for 2-3 hours.

The process of making perfect curd is not tough but it is quite tricky. Some tricks like the amount of curd required for milk, the temperature only comes after a lot of practice.Don’t worry if you fail in 2-3 attempts.

recipe note:

  •  If you live in a colder place, I recommend putting your curd vessel in a microwave.Make sure to switch off your microwave.
  • In winters, add 2 tbsp of curd in milk.Because in chilly weather, the curd will not set easily.
