malai peda recipe | how to make instant malai peda recipe with stepwise photos and a very quick video recipe. India is land of festivals. We have a lot of festivals like diwali, ganesh chaturthi, holi etc. Janmashtami is coming this week and I am all set to prepare fresh butter and other sweets as a prasad. There are a lot of variations in peda recipes. I want to mention here that pedas are also known as Pendas in gujrathi and pedha in uttar pradesh. The variations of pedas are mathura peda, kesar peda ,simple doodh peda, dharwad peda and many more.
I love all type of Indian sweets including kheer and gulab jamuns but all types of peda are my all time favorite. I can even eat pedas throughout a day (however it gives you cold if eating too much at a time ;)). Also, I sometimes make pedas on my regular day to make the day special. In short, I am a die-heart peda eater 😉
To make these delicious malai pedas, you need to spend 15 mins only. This malai peda is prepared using condensed milk so there is no need to add sugar in this recipe. Don’t forget to check how to make condensed milk at home recipe here.
This malai peda recipe is very similar to doodh peda recipe I shared earlier. however, The main difference is the texture of the pedas. If you observe both then you will notice that milk peda has a little bit of grainy texture while malai peda is quite smooth.
Additionally, condensed milk is the key in this malai peda recipe. After cooking it with ghee, It releases a unique flavor and it also helps to get the rich malai(cream) kind of texture to the peda recipe.
Saffron is a very delicate and my all time favorite spice as it instantly gives the nice and rich aroma to the recipe. Actually, Indian sweets and biryani recipes are incomplete without saffron(kesar). In this malai peda recipe, I have used saffron milk also along with the cardamom powder and dry fruits.
