It is an easy recipe which is a part of an everyday meal in Indian and Pakistani cuisine. This recipe goes best with my yesterday’s Dal makhani recipe.

jeera rice recipe| how to make jeera rice from cooked rice recipe with step by step photos and video recipe. The recipe is very famous in the North Indian region and in Pakistan as well. The recipe is not very old but it is said that the jeera rice was invented by Mughals. They were rice lovers and probably this cumin twist was added by the Mughal’s chefs.

The preparation of the recipe is very simple. I am using cooked plain rice here. You can even use some leftover plain rice as well. It is recommended to use basmati rice as basmati rice are long grain and its aroma gives the best result.

Ghee / Clarified butter also plays an important role 🙂 It enhances the aroma of the dish. Now, jeera rice recipe has a lot of variations like some adds onions and some just avoid.

Jeera rice goes best with any dal recipes and curry recipes. It completes the indian thali 🙂
