The drink is mainly consumed in north India and is considered beneficial in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. It is also a good source of vitamin B1 and B2, niacin, and vitamin C.

There are basically two version of preparing aam panna recipe. one is by boiling raw mangoes in a pressure cooker and the other methods follow roasting mangoes on the charcoal heat. I am following the first method here.

aam panna | keri ka panna recipe

Aam panna is a desi hit which is not only refreshing but also energizing. It helps you get hydrated in an instant and aids in battling the scorching heat.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Serving Size 2 glass

Ingredients  

  • 1 large raw mango, i used 350 gms approx here
  • 2 cups jaggery, adjust to your taste
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • 1 inch ginger
  • ½ cup mint leaves
  • ½ tsp black pepper corns
  • 1 cup water, to boil mangoes

Instructions

  • wash you raw mango and cut into pieces.
  • transfer them into a pressure cooker.
  • add water and pressure cook it for 1 whistle.
  • transfer the boiled mango in a mixer jar.
  • add fresh mint leaves.
  • add ginger.
  • add jaggery.
  • add black salt.
  • crush them to a smooth paste.
  • strain the mixture.
  • add salt to taste.
  • fill half of the glass with raw mango puree.
  • add chilled water and serve.

  • adjust the sugar/jaggery to your taste.
  • you can use sugar instead of jaggery but jaggery tastes best 😉
  • store the thick paste in a bottle and keep it in a refrigerator. add water at the time of serving only.
