I am sharing an easy method of making rajma which is perfect for bachelors.The method of cooking I am following here is one pot cooking.
Rajma with plain rice is a very famous combo and my favourite too. I usually prepare my rajma by following one pot cooking method as the taste of the gravy is quite different and simple.
What I Love about one-pot cooking is the blending of the flavors. This is very easy recipe so beginners can easily make.This curry goes best with rice.
I love this chana masala with jeera rice. Kabuli Chana needs 5 to 6 hours to be properly soaked. after soaking it will just take 20 min to be cooked.
I used regular gravy ingredients with a touch of kasoori methi.I also add Onion in the gravy but you can completely avoid.
I have already share Chana masala using one pot cooking and in which i have shared all the details and pictures. Just replace your chana with rajma for making this simple gravy.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup kidney beans / rajma
- 3 cups water, to soak
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 green chili, optional
- 5-6 no garlic cloves
- 1 tsp kasoori methi
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp red chili powder, to your taste
- salt to taste
- 1 cup water, to boil gravy
Instructions
- soak rajma beans for 5 hours atleast.
- Crush onion,tomato,garlic,chili and ginger to a smooth paste. Here is the detailed notes on making this tomato masala and storing it for a longer time.
- Heat oil in pressure cooker.
- Add cumins. when they crackle add asafoetida.
- Add onion. I have also add some chopped capsicum but it is completely optional.Saute for a while and then add tomato paste. mix them and saute it.
- Add turmeric powder and salt.
- Cook paste until it reduces oil.
- Add salt and red chili powder. Mix them well.add kasoori methi.
- Add Soaked Soaked rajma and mix them well.
- Add water and bring to boil for 3 min.
- Cover with lid and pressure cook it for 15 min on medium flame.
- Check rajma if they are soft enough.
- Add Lemon juice and coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with paratha or roti, Rice .

- Kindly check kidney-beans after 15 min. Sometimes it require more time to cook.
