This recipe is a famous north Indian recipe and I tasted this recipe some time ago at my neighbor aunty’s place. I tried to make her version of the recipe here. Most recipes have same steps with a little change in ingredients. Like, some likes onions in stuffing and some don’t.
Basic preparation of the recipe is same and you can always adjust the ingredients according to your taste.
Before moving further here are some quick tips to make perfect paneer paratha,
- prepare a moist dough, which should be nonsticky, soft dough.The dough should be exactly similar to chapati or roti dough.
- it is recommended to refrigerate the dough for a few hours. perhaps even refrigerating for half an hour would make a big difference.
- crumble your paneer finely. you can grate the paneer finely to small chunks.

Ingredients
for stuffing
- 100 gms paneer
- salt to your taste
- 1 medium green chili , chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp red chili powder
- ¼ tsp garam masala
- 1-2 tbsp fresh coriander
for dough,
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp oil
- salt to taste
- ¼ water, to knead dough
other,
- 6-7 tbsp ghee/oil, to roast parathas
Instructions
for stuffing,
- take a bowl.
- add crumbled paneer.
- add chopped onions and green chilies.
- add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt to your taste.
- add some fresh coriander leaves.
- mix it well.
- keep it aside.
for dough,
- add flour in mixing bowl.
- add salt to your taste.
- add oil.
- start making your dough.
- add required water.
- prepare a really smooth dough.
- allow it to set for 20 mins at least.

- take a portion of dough and prepare a small ball.
- roll the ball to a 3-inch circle.
- Place stuffing in the center of the circle.
- pleat your dough.
- Prepare a medium-size paratha.
- heat tava.
- Gently put your paratha on hot tava.
- spread ghee/ oil on both sides.
- roast golden brown on both sides.
- serve hot.
