I usually have this recipe at home only. Because whenever I go out especially in those cases when your mind is fully set for palak paneer with hot dal fry and butter lachcha paratha, I always ended up ordering some other subjis like kaju masala or dum aloo.
This recipe is very easy to prepare and the hotel style method is almost same. But as each-one have their own recipe method to follow. I am sharing my version of preparing palak paneer here.
you can add paneer cubes as per your liking because paneer is a rich source of protein. I prepared the gravy in a very simple way by adding tomatoes, onions, and garlic. In this recipe, green chili can be added to give some spiciness to the recipe but usually, I don’t add.

punjabi palak paneer recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bunch spinach /palak, fresh
- 4 cups water, to blanch spinach
- 1 large onion
- 1 large tomato
- 5-6 nos garlic cloves
- 1 medium green chili, optional
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp red chili powder
- ¼ tsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp fresh cream
- 100-250 gms malai paneer
- salt to taste
Instructions
- take a mixer jar and add onion, tomato, and garlic.
- crush it to a smooth paste.
- add 2-3 tbsp water if required and prepare a smooth paste.
- take a large vessel and boil the water first.
- meanwhile, wash your spinach leaves.
- gently put spinach leaves in boiling water and blanch for 6-7 mins.
- drain it and prepare a smooth puree.keep aside.
- heat oil in a pan.
- add cumin.
- add tomato onion paste.
- add turmeric powder and cook for 4 mins.
- now, add red chili powder ,coriander powder.
- add salt to your taste.
- cook the gravy until thicken and leaves oil from sides.
- add spinach/palak puree.
- mix it well.
- cook for another 4 mins.
- add fresh cream.
- add paneer cubes.
- mix and serve hot.
