Also, Punekars are extremely proud of their cultural heritage and hence this delicious, famous dessert has been named after the effervescent, beautiful courtesan who stole the mighty Bajirao’s heart.

Mastani is a milkshake recipe that is topped with a generous amount of ice cream and dry fruits. This milkshake is considered as the traditional drink recipe comes from Pune,Maharashtra and now famous in all over India.

There are a lot of places in Pune where you can get mastani. However, My personal recommendation is Sujata’s mastani joint as They serve one of the finest mastani in the town.

  1. I’m not familiar with Mastani, but this sounds like a mango milkshake. That is definitely something I can get on board with! A mango milkshake on a hot summer day would be amazing!! Love the recipe and photos, Priya!

  2. Such a decadent and delicious dessert! I have heard that the Alphonso mangos should be the best kind. Unfortunately we never get those here in Germany, only standard mangos that are always unripe… I still like them after they spent a few days on the counter, but I would love to try some real mangos sometime.
