Broccoli Stir fry is a very delicious and easy recipe that goes best with steamed rice. Broccoli is sauteed in butter and has some prominent garlic flavour.
I am not a fan of broccoli but recently I was watching Julia Child’s “The French Chef” show. There is one episode when Julia Child made a simple sauteed french beans. One thing I observed about her cooking is, her recipes are simple, easy to learn and perfect for family meals. Another thing I observed is, She didn’t hesitate to use a generous amount of butter 😉 Which I love the most.
So, This stir fry broccoli recipe is inspired by her beans recipe. I can say that. Can I share some of my favourite reasons for this recipe before moving to the ingredients? yes!

Ingredients to make stir-fry broccoli
Butter – okay! I used butter to saute my broccoli. I used store bought butter here but you can always make butter at home.
Broccoli – I made this recipe with frozen broccoli. So, you can use either fresh or frozen.
Seasoning – salt, pepper and garlic. Yep!that’s all.
I served this broccoli with rice. I like it. you can top your pasta with this stir-fried broccoli. You can even make a salad from this recipe too.
Can we store this recipe?
YES! you can store this recipe. For the deep freezing, store it in a zip lock bag. Microwave it for a minute at the time of using. This recipe can stay fresh for 15 days in deep freezer. I won’t recommend to store this recipe longer.

Stir-fry broccoli
Equipment
- Deep pan (with lid preferable)
Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli, chopped
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon butter, I used salted butter here
- black pepper powder to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
Instructions
- heat pan and add butter.
- Add washed and chopped broccoli.
- add garlic and mix well.
- add salt and pepper.
- cook broccoli for 5 min on medium flame.
- serve hot.
Notes
- You can use either salted or unsalted butter for this recipe. In both cases, Adjust the amount of salt.
- I have used frozen broccoli here. Using fresh broccoli is always a better choice.
Broccoli is one of the only fresh vegetables we have left the house! Will be trying your simple version using shallot instead of garlic!
