Well, Raita is a south asian condiment recipe made from yogurt. Raita is also known as “pachadi” in South Indian homes. This recipe has a lot of variations. You can make this recipe with fruits and vegetables or both.

You can serve raita with any Indian Meal. Raita and Biryani is an all-time hit combo. Apart from curries, You can serve raita with any pulao recipes.

Can we store this raita?

You can store this raita for 2 to 3 days when stored in a refrigerator. Roasted peppers won’t stay fresh for a longer period of time. If you are planning to pre-prepare this raita, then I suggest adding roasted capsicum just before serving. You can store a simple yogurt mixture in the refrigerator for 9 to 10 days.

How to make Capsicum raita?

First, Roast your capsicum. To roast – heat pan and and roast capsicum on a medium flame. After few minutes, you will notice that the skin of the peppers started peeling off. Roasting pepper this way will give the smoky effect.

Remove the skin, and chop green pepper.

Take a bowl and transfer chopped pepper, yogurt, salt, jalapeños, cumin powder and sugar. mix it well.

Roasted Capsicum Raita

Easy "shimla mirch ka raita" / capsicum raita recipe which is prepared under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • ½ green capsicum(green pepper)
  • ½ teaspoon Jalapeños chopped- adjust to your taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar adjust to your taste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon water to adjust the consistency

Instructions

  1. We have a local Indian takeaway that we order from now and then. On Fridays they always have biryani, which is what I always go for. But the raita the sell as a side is a mint raita.
