Rasam rice is a nutritious South Indian one-pot meal recipe that is made by combining rice and rasam together. It is also known as rasam sadham in south Indian homes.
Rasam rice is a common everyday south Indian recipe which you usually get in many south Indian homes. Rasam rice goes best with any vegetable fry. I tried this recipe with simple bitter gourd fry(karela fry).
What is Rasam rice?
Rasam Sadham (Rasam Rice) is a recipe of Tamil Nadu cuisine that is very famous in the whole worldwide. This is very amazing in taste and it contains a lot of health-benefiting nutrients. Rasam rice is a perfect remedy for colds and coughs.
One of my favorite thing about rasam is its easy-making process. The rasam in this recipe is quite simple. I have already shared a tomato rasam recipe and lemon rasam recipe before on the blog.
The process of making rasam rice includes 3 basic stages,
- cooking the rice separately.
- preparing rasam.
- assembling rice and rasam.
Storage
You can store this rasam rice for up to 4 days in a refrigerator. I usually use air tight containers to store this recipe in a refrigerator.

have a great day!
We love natural ways to resolve cold and cough. This is not only delicious but it nutritious too. We are missing a few Indian spices from our pantry. Really miss the Indian provision store in Hong Kong as I could get everything we needed in one stop.
Proud to say I have all the ingredients ( even asafoetida 🙂 ). Keeper it is, definitely ! Thank you dear Priya and enjoy your day !
