There is nothing beautiful than watching your hot chocolate bomb melting when you pour the hot milk in the cup ❤️ and they magically release the delicious cocoa filling and mini marshmallows from inside.
Yes, you read it right, I am going to share hot chocolate bomb recipe today. When I was planning to make this recipe, I couldn’t find the silicone molds for it. Can you believe it? Silicone molds for the hot chocolate bombs are out of stocks from most of the Canadian stores. So these are not your traditional chocolate bombs but these are made with your regular multipurpose silicone mold 😉
What is a hot chocolate bomb?
Hot chocolate Bomb is nothing but a cute little chocolate ball filled with cocoa mixture and marshmallows. Ball melts when hot milk is added to the top. In short, This magical ball turns your regular milk into yummy, hot cocoa milk.
There are a lot of flavors you can add to your hot cocoa bombs like mint, vanilla, etc. The recipe I am sharing today is a regular chocolate bomb without any flavor and also made without marshmallows as I couldn’t find it 🙁
How to store these hot cocoa bombs?
Well, You must store these bombs in a refrigerator. Once the shaping and filling is done, gently transfer the bombs in a wide container and store it in a refrigerator. You can freeze it too.
What you need to make hot chocolate bombs?
- Chocolate
- Hot cocoa mix
- Silicone molds
- Note – I have not used marshmallows here.
- Pinch of cinnamon powder, optional
How to make hot chocolate bombs?
Melting your chocolate – I am using semi-sweet baking chocolate chips here. If you are using a chocolate bar then chop it first. Microwave it for 15 to 20 seconds or melt it in a double boiler. Stir well.
Fill the molds – take some melted chocolates and fill. Push the melted chocolate around the molds, making it thick enough along the sides and edges. Put the molds into the freezer for 5-10 minutes to set.
Fill – add half teaspoon cocoa mix (and marshmallows incase of using) into spheres and cover it with the melted chocolate.
Final freezing – place the mold again in a refrigerator and allow your chocolate to set properly.
Remove chocolate from the mold – Gently push chocolate out of the silicone mold.
Decoration – after taking out the chocolate from the mold and place it in a plate, melt some white chocolate and decorate the bombs with white chocolate.
Assembling – place in a serving mug. Pour hot milk, add cinnamon powder and enjoy.
