Basic need for a banana pancake,

To make a tasty banana pancake, we need 3 main ingredients: bananas, eggs, and wheat flour. Many people create their own recipe because this dish is really easy to make. And here is the formula that I recommend.

  1. Flour
    There are 4 types of flour that are suitable for making the pancakes: all-purpose flour, bread flour, pastry flour and cake flour. You can choose one for your cake, but I highly recommend you to use all-purpose flour or bread flour.
  2. Bananas
    You need 1-2 ripe bananas for 3-4 people. You should pick aromatic bananas because they’re sweet-smelling, which makes you pancakes tartier.
  3. Eggs
    Eggs normally are available in any kitchens. To make this dish for 3-4 people, you need 2 eggs.

Besides, we need to prepare the following spices, which should be always available in your kitchen:

  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • White sugar
  • Low-fat milk
  • Vanilla  extract
  • Butter
  • Vegetable oil

Note: Apart from 3 main ingredients, you don’t need to prepare every spice that I mentioned.

Healthy banana pancakes

Ingredients  

  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour OR bread flour
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 2 nos eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup low fat milk, + 2 tbsp
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • oil, as per need

Instructions

  • Use a medium bowl, mix flour, white sugar, baking powder and salt until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Use a small bowl, puree the peeled bananas until it’s soft and smooth. Beat 2 eggs, then put it in low fat-milk, vanilla extract then stir. 
  • Pour the smelt butter into the banana mixture and mix well until it’s smooth. At this step, you should use a wooden spoon to mix, flip evenly and turn the powder from bottom to top. Do not stir because it makes the pancake thick and lumpy.
  • Place the anti-stick pan on the stove and set the heat on the pan’s dry totally and hot enough. Add a slice of butter and a tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan and then boil them.
  • Pour or scoop batter onto the pan, using a ¼ bowl of the mixture for each pancake. The gap between each pad is about 3 cm so that when the cakes do not stick together.
  • Fry until the cake turns to the golden brown, appearing on the surface of the cake. This takes about 2 minutes. Then flip the cake and continue to fry for 1-2 minutes until the side of the cake is golden brown too. Lift the cake and drain the oil.
  • Keep frying until all the mixture prepared

Decoration

  • Slough off the oil on the cake. Stack layers of cake on top of each other. Then sprinkle syrup on top and decorate with sugar candy and or some fresh banana slices.
    You can also pour some honey into the pancakes.

Common mistakes in making banana pancakes

  1. Using too much or too less an ingredient
    For example, 2 teaspoons sugar is enough for the pancakes, but you put in 4 teaspoons one. This makes the pancake not only too sweet but also easy to be burn.bananapancakes
  2. Using the overripe bananas
    Aromatic bananas are sweet-smelling but if an overripe one is put in the mixture, the whole dish will be a bit sour.
  3. Don’t heat the pan enough
    From the beginning, if the pan is not hot enough, your cake has to wait so long to be cooked and crisp.
  4. Setting the heat too high
    In contrast, if the pan is too hot, your pancakes will be ruined from the beginning.
  5. Flipping your pancakes too soon and too often.
    Flipping too many times will lose the crust, moisture, and susceptibility of the pancakes.
    Actually, you need to flip it just once until the finishing. Flipping pancakes too many times may make your cake deflate, losing some of that wonderful fluffy texture.

Special note:

  • Put just enough spices to the mixture.
  • Pay attention to the temperature in the pan when cooking.
  • Only flip once during the cooking.
  • Remember use fresh yellow aromatic bananas.
  • Too much oil can make your pancake greasy.
