CurryNation Talks #11 Year in review 2021- catch up on the little things in my life 😉 This is Priya and Prashant here – Duo behind this blog.
Hey Hey everyone!
I know I know, You all are wondering where I am these days! no postings, no updates nothing! It is been a long time since we share our updates here. Due to my health issues, I was unable to post regularly. Well, I am trying to get back on track slowly and we have a piece of major news to share.
We have a BIG life update 🙂
Our little bundle of joy arrived on 28 November <3 Yes – “Mihika Joshi” our little princess, New member of our family.
So this whole year was a bit busy, surprising, challenging for us. As you all are already aware that we are quite new in Canada, We were busy figuring out how the hospital thing works here.
We managed to handle the whole pregnancy journey smoothly. Mr. Husband was (and still) a big support as he managed to do all household chores. I took a rest as much as I can. Though I was very active throughout the pregnancy, I still have horrible back pain:(. Hoping for a fast recovery.
My Diet
I completely changed my diet during pregnancy. I cut down my outings. I tried to have fresh home-cooked food as much as I can.
For these 9 months, I started my day with milk, boiled sprouts, and dry-fruits. At lunch, I ate fresh vegetables, different dhals, fruits, and chapati most of the time. For the dinner, I ate satvik protein-rich food. I think the food you have plays a major role in your life. So, from February to the current date, I am following the food rituals, my mother, grandmother has followed during and after pregnancy.
In the last 3 months, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, So I had to balance my rice and chapati proportions mainly 🙂
Lifestyle Changes
I was very active even before I got pregnant. I continued doing my everyday walking sessions. I did mild yoga initially but later, I was completely relying on walking. I had swelling issues and gestational diabetes. I had to walk every day. The rest of the things were ok with me. There were regular pregnancy-related health issues which were quite normal at that time.
Photoshoot
We managed to do our own maternity photo shoot. Because of covid, we were very careful. We decided to do the maternity photoshoot by ourselves. It was an amazing feeling as we planned, we clicked and we edited our own photos 🙂
Do let us know your feedback guys. Also, If anyone wants lightroom presets, Let us know. Priya’s curry nation has its own preset collection:)
We also managed to host a small party for our close friends.
Pregnancy and Covid
Here comes the real challenge. We are still in the era of covid and the situation is still unpredictable. I think Life with Covid is the new normal 🙁 Well, I decided to get vaccinated. It was a tough decision for me as getting vaccinated during my pregnancy. I was nervous but my family convinced me to get vaccinated for my and my child’s safety.
