Cauliflower pepper fry is a very simple weekday recipe that goes best with any Indian bread. One of the easiest curry recipe where cauliflower is roasted with turmeric powder and some black pepper powder.

This cauliflower pepper fry recipe is inspired by south Indian cuisine. This recipe needs minimal ingredients that you will always have in the house and is so easy to make.
Cauliflower is one of my favourite veggie. You will usually find cauliflower in my refrigerator. I make Cauliflower-potatoes which is known as “aloo-gobi” in Hindi often. Nowadays I cook this simple cauliflower stir-fry often too. I have shared “saffron-cauliflower-stirfry” on the blog before and I must say that Today’s cauliflower stirfry version is simplest ever.

What ingredients to add to cauliflower stirfry?
Now coming to the detailed ingredient list, you won’t believe but this stirfry cauliflower is made with very basic ingredients like oil, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, mustard seeds, cumin, oil and salt. Don’t forget cauliflower is our hero ingredient.
How to make Pepperfry Cauliflower?
I always start the process of cooking cauliflower with Soaking. Soaking cauliflower in warm salted water makes sure the inside cleaning. This is what my mother does all the time. Heat water and add salt. once the water is hot enough, add cauliflower in it and soak it for 5 to 10 mins.
Drain and chop cauliflower.
Heat oil in pan.
Add mustard seeds and cumin.
When they crackle add curry leaves if you want. Adding curry leaves is totally optional.
Add chopped cauliflower.
Add turmeric powder, salt, black pepper powder and mix well.
cook for them on high flame for 5 to 7 mins.
serve hot with roti or paratha.

- 2 cups cauliflower
- 2 cups water, to wash cauliflower
- 1 tsp salt, to wash cauliflower
- 1 tsp oil
- ⅛ tsp mustard seeds
- ⅛ tsp cumin
- 2-3 curryleaves, optional
- a pinch of turmeric powder
- black pepper powder, to your taste
- salt to taste
- a pinch of red chili powder, optional

Notes
- You can add you choice of vegetables like fresh peas or capsicum along with cauliflower. However the cooking time will differ.
