This recipe is kinda my own idea to make a not- so- ordinary taco recipe. Earlier I shared a method to prepare taco shells at home and The recipe was a huge hit. So, I had to share some tacos recipe now, right 😉

Now, When it comes to a taco recipe, There is always a guacamole, sour cream, cheese and taco sauce as the other toppings along with different taco fillings like beans, chicken etc.

In Today’s taco recipe, I tried to make a different sauce. The sauce is made from apples. You can crush the apples to a smooth paste for the fine sauce consistency but I wanted to add extra crunch to the recipe. This is the reason I used finely chopped apples here.

The filling is made with chickpeas where chickpeas are boiled in salted water and sauteed with fresh cream and seasoned with homemade cajun spice powder. You know this recipe is very easy and simple to make. It is just that the elements used in this recipe are somewhat different which makes this recipe completely unique

Do you know? Taco is the very first recipe I tried in canada. I tried tacos during my first shopping trip after moving here. I still remember the moment when I purchased my first winter jacket and was on the way to Canadian Tire to buy some stuff like jars, and pans for my kitchen and some other stuff.

Canadian Tire will always remain special as I purchased most of the important kitchen tools, utensils from there, and today, I got an opportunity to share some of the amazing products with you guys.

This taco recipe is made in PADERNO Classic Champagne Bronze Cookware Set. These products are Heavy-duty, Dishwasher safe, Oven-safe, suitable for all stovetops, and many more features. You can check PADERNO cookware range here.

Coming back to the recipe, As I said earlier, This taco recipe can be considered as a 100% homemade recipe as the shells are homemade, and cajun spice powder is homemade too.

Reasons to love these tacos,

  • Very very easy to make – Trust me, this recipe is not a difficult one to make.
  • Full of flavors
  • Filling and sauce can be prepared ahead of time
  • Spicy with a little bit of sweet in taste – which I think you will definitely like
  • Perfect summer recipe

  1. The preparation of the chickpeas sounds so interesting and delicious. I’m trying that for sure. And this whole combination of flavors sounds amazing! 🙂 ~Valentina

  2. What a fun recipe! I lived in Louisiana for years, so Cajun flavors always call to me. However, we live in upstate New York now, and this is big-time apple country. What a fun way to combine these two favorites into one…and tacos at that! Yum!
