toor dal

water
to boil toor dal

curry leaves

dry red chili

turmeric powder
salt to taste

to boil rasam
Instructions
finely chop your tomatoes or grate it and keep it aside.
boil toor dal and keep it aside.
heat ghee.
add mustard seeds and cumins.
when they crackle add asafoetida.
add curry leaves and dry red chili.
add green chili and saute for a while.
add tomatoes and mix.
add black pepper powder. add ginger as well.
add turmeric powder.
add salt to taste.
add water.
add boiled toor dal and mix.
add rasam powder if you like.
boil rasam for 5-7 mins.
serve hot.

you can avoid rasam powder.
Rasam is a thin condiment recipe so adjust the consistency as per your liking.
