Ingredients

toor dal
soaked for 1 hour so it doubles in size

water
to boil dal

cup
water
for dal preparation

tomatoes
chopped

oil

cumin

mustard seeds

curry leaves

onion
sliced

ginger
grated

tsp
green chili paste
1 small green chili
salt to taste

for garnishing
Instructions
transfer soaked dal and chopped tomatoes into a pressure cooker.
add water.
add turmeric powder.
pressure cook dal for 4-5 whistles.
mash cooked dal and keep aside.
heat oil in a pan.
add mustard and cumin.
add curry leaves.
when they crackle, add onion and saute.
add ginger and green chili.
add red chili powder and turmeric powder.
add boiled and mashed dal.
add salt to your taste.
add water little bit.
boil for 7 mins.
serve hot.
