Cardamom cookies are delicious Indian style shortbread recipe that is made with minimal ingredients. These cookies are perfect teatime snack recipe that you can store for almost a month.
Cream the butter. If you are using an electric blender than keep it on a medium speed and whisk the butter. whisk/cream/mix the butter until smooth and light.
1 cup butter
Add sugar and again whisk/cream/mix it. You will get a nice, smooth and little bit of fluffy mixture.
1 cup granulated sugar
add all purpose flour and gram flour. Also Add cardamom powder. mix the dry ingredients well using spatula.
1½ cup maida / all purpose flour, ½ cup gram flour / besan, ¼ tsp cardamom powder
Gently mix together the whole mixture to a dough using your hands. “Never afraid to use your hands” as Julia Child says. If your mixture is crumbly, then add 1 to 3 tbsp milk. Do not knead the dough.
Prepare your baking pan. spread some butter/ghee and place a parchment paper.
Prepare medium size balls from the dough and place it on a baking tray. Keep some space between them as they expand while baking.
Bake the Cookies in a preheated oven at 200 degrees C/356 degrees fahrenheit for 20 mins till light golden or golden.
As oven temperatures may vary, it may take less or more time. So do keep a check. Enjoy.
