moong dal
soaked
2
cups
water
to boil dal
salt to taste
½
teaspoon
cumins / jeera
a pinch of asafoetida / hing

tablespoon
ginger-chili-garlic paste
1
medium
tomato
chopped
½
teaspoon
turmeric powder

tablespoon
Clarified butter / ghee
fresh coriander
for garnishing
Instructions
Wash your moong dal in running water and put it in a pressure cooker.
Add 2 cups water in pressure cooker and allow to boil it for 3-4 whistles on medium flame.
keep the dal aside.
Heat ghee in
Kadai
.
Add cumins. When they crackle, add asafoetida(Hing).
Add ginger-chili-garlic paste and saute it for a while.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt.
Mix it well. Cook the mixture until tomatoes are softened.
Add boiled dal.
Cook the mixture for 5-7 mins on medium flame.keep stirring.
Garnish with coriander.
Serve hot.
