masoor dal
yield approx 1 cup after soaking

turmeric powder

red chili powder

salt to taste

kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

ghee /clarified butter

Instructions
Soak masoor dal for 45 mins at least before boiling.
transfer the soaked dal into pressure cooker.
add water.
pressure cook it for 4 whistles on medium flame.
heat oil in pan.
add cumins.
add garlic and onion.
add green chili as well and saute for a while.
Add turmeric powder and cook it for 5 mins.
add tomatoes.
add red chili powder,coriander powder and salt.
cook the mixture until mushy.
add boiled masoor dal.
cook the mixture for 7-8 mins.
add some ghee on the top.
add kasoori methi.
mix and enjoy.

Notes
I soaked my dals for 60 mins before cooking. I soaked ¼ cup masoor dal which yield 1 cup approx.
