garam masala

for garnishing

to pressure cook rice

Instructions
take a pressure cooker and heat oil in a pan.
add mustard and cumin. when the seeds are crackle, add asafoetida.
add chopped onions and tomatoes. Also add green chilies.
saute for a while.
add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
mix well.
add rice and masoor dal and mix.
add water and cover pressure cooker with the lid.
pressure cook it for 3 to 4 whistles on medium flame.
garnish with coriander and serve hot.
