Potato Pepper fry recipe, how to make Less oil potato dry recipe at home

 Easy and quick Pepper fry potaoes recipe with step wise pictures

Potato pepper fry is a quick recipe which requires very less oil.It is a bit spicy and savory because of lemon and black pepper. You can even have it in your break-fast as well.
I don’t remember where i read this recipe but this recipe has been in my mind for long time.I am giving full credit to the respected author of this recipe 🙂

I have prepared this potatoes in microwave.The maximum amount of time requires is the ONLY time for boiling.
I have used regular potato here but you can always use baby potatoes instead.You can adjust the amount of black pepper according to your taste.I have used garlic chutney here instead of garlic paste.
Being Indian, I couldn’t resist myself to add other spices like red chili powder and turmeric powder.
You can even have this potato fry recipe with chapati or flat bread OR even in break-fast. It tastes awesome.

  • 2 large size potatoes,boiled
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic chutney || Garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • a pinch of red chili powder
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • Coriander for garnishing


  1. Boil potatoes in pressure cooker for 10 min on medium flame.
  2. Take a bowl.
  3. Add Oil,garlic paste,salt,cumin,red chili powder,turmeric powder and black pepper powder.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add potato pieces and mix well.
  6. Transfer potato pieces on baking tray.
  7. Grill potatoes in microwave for 5 mins.
  8. Serve hot.Squeeze some lemon juice on the top as per your liking.
  • If you don’t have microwave,follow this method
    • Heat oil in tava.Add cumins.
    • when they crackle add garlic paste and potatoes.
    • Add salt,black pepper powder and red chilipowder.
    • Saute potatoes on high flame for 3-4 mins.
    • Serve hot.
  • You can use baby potatoes as well.
  • You can avoid Garlic.
