Hey friends,
Here is another quick recipe- Raisins pulao .
I found this recipe very handy just like spring onion pulao when i am in mood to cook something awesome but have no energy.

You all know very well that i am rice lover from bottom of my heart. So,always wanted to have some extra flavor.At same I am Lazy person as well. I wanted to share one thing about me is, I am VERY MOODY.Everything is depends on my mood.It is my mood which decides my menu most of the time :p hihi 😉 :(. I am very blessed to have mr.right who is always there to tolerate my moody nature. 😉

I like this rice with gujrati kadhi.They both tastes awesome
together.I have also found this Raisin pulao in some of our “gujju
Shadi”.Actually These Gujju shadis gives me the inspiration to have this
dryfruit pulao with gujrati kadhi.I have added
regular flavors with regular nuts.Ghee is used to enhance the cinnamon
flavor as It is perfect combo.

Though it is dryfruit pulao,You can
not avoid Matar in this recipe.I have tried once without matar but
frankly speaking i did not like that :(..
You can adjust the flavors according to your taste.

Prep Time :5 min

Cook Time :15 min
Total Time :20 min
Serves : 2 – 3
Cuisine : Gujarati


  •  Basmati Rice – 1 cup
  • Water – 3-4 cup [approx]
  • Salt – to taste
  • Matar/Green peas – 1/4 cup
  • Almonds – 5-6 nos
  • cashew -5 
  • Pistachios – 3-4 nos
  • Raisins – 10 -12 
  • Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
  • Cloves – 3-4
  • Curry leaves -3-4 nos [optional]
  • Cumins- 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee/Clarified butter – 2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander -for garnishing


    1. Soak Basmati rice in 1 cup water for 15 min atleast.Mean while chop your dryfruits.
    2. Boil rice and green peas together in 3-4 cup water until rice cooks well.
    3. Drain rice well. You can check my tutorial on making Perfect rice Here.
    4. Heat Ghee in pan.
    5. Roast dry fruits in ghee for a min .
    6. Add cumins ,cinnamon stick and cloves .
    7. Your tempering is done.
    8. Pour this tadka on rice.
    9. Mix rice well.
    10. Garnish with coriander.
    11. Serve hot with kadhi Or dal.


    • I am using frozen matar here.You can use fresh as well.
