Recipe : Matar Mushroom in white gravy | Peas mushroom in white sauce

Matar Mashroom is something you can make quickly when you are in hurry.I made this curry in white classic creamy onion gravy.
I Grind Onions,chilies,Ginger and garlic paste together and cook them with freshly homemade cream and milk mixture. this is tried and tested recipe with step by step pictures.
I learnt to cut mushrooms from my neighbor aunt because i am not such a big fan of mushrooms and

even sometimes ago i even couldn’t recognize the quality of mushrooms
but a BIG thanks to aunt who taught me all these basics about
mushrooms.
I remember the day when i taste Mushrooms for the first time.It was at Barbecue Nation, Pune.
when i tasted them i was quite surprise and couldn’t believe that
mushrooms can tastes good.Very next moment i fall in love with them. I
had never tried such a tasty Mushrooms before in my life.After that
day,I started accepting Mushrooms as part of my meal.I hope i will find
the exact starter recipe of mushrooms that serves in BBQ nation one day
and will share with you guys on this blog.
Coming back to my
recipe, I tasted Matar Mushroom recipe in red classic gravy at my
friend’s home.It was a classic gravy made from tomatoes and onions.
I
like Creamy gravies more so decided to try this matar and mushroom
combination in White Creamy gravy.My Tasting expert approved this recipe
and i am here to share with you all.
  
I am using classic button mushrooms here.
This recipe goes best with Roti, Poori , Parathas and kulchas.

   Mushroom Matar gravy-how to make matar mushroom

Prep Time : 10 min

Cook Time : 20 min
Total Time : 30 min
Main Ingredient : Mushroom ,fresh cream
Serves : 2
Cuisine : North Indian


Ingredients:

  • Mushrooms – 1 cup
  • Matar / Green peas ,boiled-1/2 cup
  • Onions- 2 medium size
  • Green chili – 1 ,medium size
  • Ginger , 1/2 inch piece
  • Garlic cloves – 6 nos
  • Water – 1/2 cup approx
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 1 
  • Salt – to taste
  • Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp (optional)
  • Coriander – for garnishing
  • Fresh Cream – 2 tsp
  • Milk – 1/2 cup approx

Method/Assembling: 

  1. Finely cut mushrooms and wash them in running water.Keep them aside.
  2. Add  onions,chili,garlic,ginger and red chili powder in mixture grinder and churn them to a smooth paste.add 2 tbsp water if required.
  3. Heat oil in pan. Add bay leaf and onion paste.
  4. Saute it until it reduces oil in pan.
  5. Add salt,Garam masala and Mushrooms. Mix them well and saute them for a 1 min.
  6. After a minute,Add 3-4 tbsp of water cook mushroom for 5 min.While cooking mshrooms cover pan with lid.
  7. Add Boiled Matar and mix them well.cook them for a 2 minutes again.
  8. Now, add fresh cream and milk together. stir continuously until it thickens in consistency.
  9. Sprinkle some fresh coriander.
  10. Serve Hot.
Note:
  • The measurement i take for MILK in this recipe is , 2 tbsp Fresh cream and 4 tbsp of milk(approx) will make total 1/2 cup in quantity. You can adjust the proportion of milk and cream according to your taste.
  • After adding cream and milk,stir gravy continuously otherwise your gravy become Lumpy because we added all spices in gravy before.
  • I would not recommend to avoid milk.
