Recipe: Dabeli | Kutchi Dabeli | How to make dabeli

Dabeli recipe-Dabeli is Street food recipe originated from Land of Kutch And Kutch is district of
Gujrat so it basically Kutchi(Gujrati) Recipe.

It can be easily found in gujrat,mumbai and other places in india(i guess).I don’t think this is versatile Recipe because i saw most of the vendors in Pune-Mumbai follows authentic ‘Kutchi Dabeli’ Recipe.
Dabeli Is Tangy ,Sweet in taste just like any other Street food chat Recipe.It is combination of Ladi Pav stuffed with Tangy,Sweet Potato feeling and Served with Green Chutney.
Dabeli is Just 5 min Recipe if you have everything Ready else spend time in preparation for chutneys and masala.
I have used all Homemade ingredients here Starting from potato masala to gram flour vermicelli garnishing.I have already shared my tutorial on how to make namkin Sev at home I request you kindly check that out because sev is the heart of Dabeli recipe.Another Hero of Dabeli Recipe is Roasted Peanuts. You can not avoid this ingredient at any coast.
I serve this dabeli with Green Chutney and Garlic Chutney.

Recipe Details below:

Kutchi Dabeli

Prep Time/Assembling time :  5 min
Cook Time : 25 mins
Total Time : 30 mins
Main Ingredient : Potato,Peanuts ,Sev
Serves : 2-3
Cuisine : Gujarat ,Kutch


Ingredients For Stuffing:

  • Potato – 4 large size
  • Salt – to taste
  • Roasted Peanuts – 4-5 tbsp
  • Onion,finely chopped – 1 medium size
  • pomegranate – 4 tbsp
  • Sugar-1/2 tbsp
Imgredients for Dabeli Masala:
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chili -2 nos
  • Cinnamon Stick – 1/2 inch
  • Cloves -3 nos
  • Coriander seeds-1/2 tsp
Other Ingredients:
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Laadi Pav – 6 piece
  • Namkin Sev – for garnishing
  • Fresh Coriander,chopped – for garnishing
  • Butter/Oil- for roasting

Method for Masala and Potato Stuffing:

  1. Boil potatoes for 15 mins on medium flame.After that mash potatoes and keep it aside.
  2. Mean while Dry Roast Cumin seeds,Dry Red Chili,Cinnamon,Cloves,Coriander seeds and churn them to a fine powder.
  3. After that,dry roast peanuts.When it cools down,crush them using your hands.(it will Remove it’s skin)
  4. Heat Oil in pan.
  5. Add mashed potatoes,Salt,Dabeli Masala(masala that we prepared),Sugar and mix them well.
  6. Turn off the flame and add Peanuts,Onions and Pomegranate.
  7. Also add Coriander leaves and mix them well.
Method For Assembling:
  1. Heat Tava.
  2. Cut Laadi Pav from the center into two parts.
  3. Spread Garlic Chutney on the inner part of Laadi pav.
  4. Put potato mixture on that and spread them well.
  5. On the Potato masala,Place the remaining Part f Laadi pav.
  6. Roast This pav on tava using Butter/Oil.
  7. Sprinkle Some Sev And Serve Hot with Chutney.

Note:

  • You can avoid Pomegranate but Not Namkin Sev.
  • You can Use Burger bun Instead of Laadi Pav.
  • You can Get Namkin Sev from Any Indian Grocery Store however I am Using Homemade Here.
