Gujrati Liquid Dals are famous because of its sweet and savory taste.Gujraties normaly use toor dal(pigeon splits) in their recipes while making any liquid dal  and dry moong dal subji which i already share is also very famous with ‘Aam ka ras’.
This liquis dal is quite thin in consistency and sweet in taste. fresh lemon juice gives the excellent savory taste into this dal which complement the best with its sweetness.

Moong dal in Gujarti Style

 Prep Time : 15 mins
Cook Time : 10 mins
Total Time : 25 mins
Main Ingredient : yellow gram split
Serves : 2
Cuisine : Gujarat


Ingredients:

  • Yellow gram split / Moong dal Yellow – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1 and a 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 5 nos
  • Dry red chili – 1 no
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Ghee / Clarified Butter – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder – a pinch
  • Coriander,chopped – for garnishing
  • Salt – to taste
  • Juggery – 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Tomato,chopped – 1 small size
  • Green Chili , chopped – 1 medium size
  • Ginger , Grated – 1 tsp



Method:
  1. Add 1+1/2 cup water,1 tsp of turmeric into the yellow split and pressure cook it for 15 mins on medium flame .
  2. After that, Heat Oil and Ghee in Deep pan.
  3. Add mustards and cumins.When they crackle add Dry chili,Curry leaves and Asafoetida.
  4. Add Boiled yellow gram.
  5. Add turmeric powder,salt,Tomato,Ginger,Green chili into the dal and boil them for 5-7 mins.
  6. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
  7. Serve Hot.
Note:
  • You don’t need to soak dal because we pressure cook them and moong deal is comperetivly soft lentil.
Availability Of Products:

This Daal Goes best With Plain Rice.
