How to Store Matar

  • Matar | Green Peas – 1/2 kg
  • Water – for boiling
  • Salt – 1 tsp

Method / Assembling:
  1. Start Peeling Green Peas take out all bad peas.Wash them Twice and strain all water from that.
  2. Boil Matar For 2 mins in Deep pan.Add salt into that.
  3. After that Strain all Hot water and Wash Your peas with Cold Water.
  4. Keep it aside Since it comes in room temperature.
  5. Store Them In Air tight Container.
  6. Put this Container into Deep Freezer.
  7. Use them When Required.


  • At Step 3: we are Washing them in cold water to stop Cooking process of matar.
  • These matar stays good for 1 to 2 month …
  • Please DO not defrost your refrigerator during the storing period.

  1. Good idea of storing peas in the freezer and use later. Here in Canada we hardly see fresh peas available always using frozen ones.
